Headphones for ICT lesson

Dear All,

Just a quick note to ask you to please bring a set of headphones to the lesson this evening if you have them. We'll be using the computers for some listening tasks and we'll make each other deaf if all of us use the speakers on the computers.

If you had 1,000,000 What would you buy? Here are a few ideas from the group "The Barenaked Ladies.

1) Watch the film and write down all the things he would buy his girlfrind to try to impress her.

2) Now listen again, this time without the video and complete the worksheet with all the ideas he has.

3) If you were English, what would you do? Where would you live? How would you act? What would you eat? Where would you work? Use this space to share your ideas.

Survey - What Times suit you best?

Dear All,

We have a meeting tomorrow to arrange the smaller groups we will be studying in in June. We'd like to know whether you would like to continue with 2 hour lessons or if you would prefer to change to 3 hour lessons as was suggested last week.

Please complete this brief survey to help us, thanks!

TED Talk - The Power of the Internet

Dear All,

here is the video we watched in last week's lesson. It contains some really great ideas about how internet marketing and how it works best if are ready to lose control.

Watch the video again and complete the worksheet I gave you at the end of the lesson. Then, try watching again, this time with either the English, or Italian subtitles to check your understanding.

You'll find many other great videos like this one at www.TED.com, too. See if there's anything else you like! If you find something good, why not share it with the class by leaving a comment at the end of this post?

Have fun learning!

Homework for 20th April 2010

Hi there folks!

Thanks for a great first lesson. It was really nice to have met you all.

Here's are the slides I used for my 1 minute "Introduce Myself" presentation. Please make a similar (short) presentation to introduce yourself to the class for next week's lesson.

Remember: it only needs to be one minute long. Actually there are too many slides in this version here. Yours can be shorter.

If you can't manage to prepare a PowerPoint presentation for next week, just bring some photos to class. Make sure that they present you though! Also, make sure that you are ready to talk about your presentation to the class!

See you next week.

Seth.
